i want buy this tablet (Posted on 12/7/12)Star - Good but not Great Review by Dude

I've had the Novo Elf 2 for 4 months now and there are lots of pros and cons over more established makers (google nexus 7, kindle fire etc...).Star
The biggest of these differences are
1) The Ainol Elf 2 is far more open to adjustments. If you want to add anything like a harddisk or bluetooth its easy or if you want to hook it up to the TV it just takes a cable thanks to many import sockets.
2. The Elf also is easy to update with no programmes stopping you from putting the new operating system on (be sure to find a good 1 though).
3.You can (with a bit of know how) put almost any Android App on this thing with the right tweeks. From GTA to adobe photoshop collage they all run very well.
And finally it is ALOT cheaper, when you take into account the amount of memory you can add to this via usb stick and its more powerful than the Nexus 7.
THE DOWN SIDE's
1. The operating system that comes with it is appalling, and ALL the updates you can get online have something wrong with them one way or another, so its just not the finished article.
2. The battery is crap no other words for it, no consistancy, no where near as long as nexus 7.
3. Speakers are useless, vibration is too strong and touch screen isn't amazing although not terrible.
4. It over heats like a mofo, probably explains the battery issues, although there is firmware out there that fixes the issue, you will however loose a lot of the tablets power.
So over all I would say if you know a abit about Android and low level programming it can be very useful and not as restricve as commercial versions. You don't feel like it will be out of date in 3 months which is what I hate about this smartphone/tablet revolution.
Build quality is fine apart from the over heating and screen is good not great. But the inputs are the real difference and do count for more when you've had it a while. Its not as powerful or crisp but I'd have it over an Ipad because I don't feel like I'm being mugged everytime I turn it on.
A personal choice obviously. (Posted on 12/6/12) - Good tablet Review by remy4223

It does have GPS but no bluetooth, good battery life. Processor settings of performance w/quadrant (score over 3300), normal (score over 2900) and battery save (score over 2200). Paid $69.99 for this really nice 7" tablet. (Posted on 10/7/12)Star - Excellent value for cheap price Review by ali mac

We have had several different Ainol tablets and ELF 2 has performed exactly as anyone would want. Battery life is quite good and internet connect is the best yet. (have trialed 4-5 brand names from Hong Kong)All the usual you tube, video player, play shop etc work exactly as they shouldStar
Congratulations to the people at Ainol, you make very good products.
(saving to buy one from Ainol with jelly bean OS) :-)
