I bought samsung galaxy notes 10' with 3G, ipad 2 10" with 3G and ainol flame 7". The performance for ainol is fantastic and equivalently and surprisingly good. In terms of sound samsung is the best ( two speakers ) but for connectivity (online games with online player) ipod is better. (Posted on 2/12/13)

I can't remember if I made a follow-up review; however, I have had my Fire for two weeks, now and so far, so good. I would give it 5 stars if I could run Netflix and/or Amazon Instant. It's competitive tablet, however: good batt life, all the hardware bells and whistles missing from the other 7" competitors. The AMLogic Dual-Core 1.5GHz is not a Tegra 3, but it's still pretty snappy: benchmarks performance is great and CPU/GPU-intensive games play w/o a hitch. Movies look GREAT and sound is decent. Gets a bit hot on the port side, emits a slight static pop from the speakers. Speakers are not well-placed, allowing sound to be muffled when held or laid flat. This product arrived 3 days before the expected delivery date.This has got to be one of the best tablet deals online right now. It has an incredible screen, decent performance, incredible build quality for the price (actually backed with brushed aluminum. I am using this product in India from last 45 days Fire is Excellent in hardware configuration but low on applications compatibility from Google play. I cant understand why Ainol cant configure its firmware with US fingerprint so all the Google play store apps would become compatible. Also being an international company it should release English and Chinese firmware separately. I admire their loyalty towards Chinese language but for international market they should adopt this policy.And also one thing i noticed is that Ainol may not be listening to users. otherwise they could have released the new firmware separately for international users who do not know Chinese language. If they do just two changes all the custom Roms would disappear. If feiyu custom rom can do it why cant Ainol? (Posted on 10/20/12)

Well, my Fire tablet arrived and I've been using it for a week. Good and bad it is everything I expected

Good:
- cheapest 16GB tablet on the market right now
- has the most hardware & firmware ammenities of any comparable 7" tablet
- hi res vid
- HDMI
- Bluetooth & Wifi (3G capable)
- Micro TF(SD) expandable up to 32GB
- 2.0mp front cam/5.0 rear cam w/ LED Flash
- RAM 1GB DDS3 ROM 16 GB
- Android 4.0.3 ICS (still supports Flash)
- Ultra portable w/ sturdy build
- Ultraportable
- 5000mA battery = 7-8hrs of life
- Super fast overseas shipping (3 days)
- Dual Core 1.5 GHz processor/ Dual core GPU
- 1280x800 IPS 180 degree viewing angle

BAD
- speakers are not the best and emits a soft popping sound when activated.
- no English language manual
- won't play some Flash video
- Amazon Prime Movies and Netflix don't work with the older version of Flash on this tab (10.2)
- Netflix v1.8 works, but doesn't buffer probably making next to impossible to watch anything
- AC adapter cord is too short to use while plugged in and the plug itself is too long making it a bit cumbersome to plug in
- gets uncomfortably warm on the port side (but not too hot to handle)
- I experience some software instability where the OS reset to the factory setting on two occasions for no apparent reason

All-in-all, I'm happy to be able to keep up with bleeding-edge technology on a budget and still get a quality product.

I use it exclusively for content-consumption: web surfing, music and movie streaming (Crackle works), checking emails, a bit a of gaming (mostly for my kid) and brief presentations. The navigation is not as smooth as some of the higher-end tablets, but it it's still pretty good. Haven't noticed any lag even with really CPU/GPU-intensive games

Flame doesn't support qr-codes on its cameras, google play not fully supported.
Works better when rooted with kernel 0827 in stead of 0815. Problems with unstable battery. Waiting for fully adapted android 4.1.

I've been looking into getting specifically a 7" Android...something I can shove in my pocket. I already have a 12.1" tablet PC for work; so, I wanted something ultra portable for play. I compared all the main 7 inchers as I'd never heard of Ainol Novo. Except for CPU speed, the Flame/Fire, is by far my top choice. The price is better than the rest. It 1 ups most w/ external storage, dual cams & bluetooth. It has the latest in display res and Android software w/o losing Flash support as w/ the Nexus 7.

I ordered the Fire/Flame w/o hesitation and now I'm just waiting w/ bells on for it to arrive. If it turns out to be all that I imagine, I'll be buying a couple more. (Posted on 10/10/12)

I think this tablet is a great value and pretty too! ;) This is my experience with it, and I'm trying not to hash over what others have already said.

I noticed it heating up too, but I took it out of the case and it cooled down rather quickly. I do have a slight static sound when touching the screen on occasion. I turned off vibrate, and it helped a little. I hope this can get fixed with an update.

Finally got Netflix to work. If you are having problems too, search for an older version. (1.8...) It worked for me. Every app I tried has worked perfectly. I deleted all the Chinese ones. lol

Shipping to Michigan was really fast. I chose 3-5 day shipping and it took 3 days, but it took them a week to send it. Well worth the wait. Probably because I chose for them to switch it to English. IDK

Like many in the USA, I was uncertain about buying from China, but this company is reputable. I would highly recommend this tablet, even to those in USA.

Thank god you finally got everything right: materials, display, ports, SW, design. I mean, it was not that hard, right? For next version, please add additional versions with GPS, LTE, remove chinese apps outside China, replace external usb keyboard with bluetooth version, replace charger (I am using european version) with something better, it gets pretty hot and it doesn't look as good as tablet itself. Overall tablet is great, and first chinese tablet that goes head-to-head with big players. If Ainol continues in the same direction, they will get lot of traction. (Posted on 9/15/12)

I got this tablet the same day my friend with his Nexus 7. I wanted to do some comparisons between my tablet and his Nexus 7:
1) Download Speed: Nexus 7 was a little faster than Ainol Novo 7 Flame.
2) Screen: Just as the same screen
3) Internet Speed: Ainol Novo 7 Flame faster than Nexus 7.
4) OS: Nexus 7 Android 4.1 Jellly Bean and Ainol Novo 7 Flame use Andrid 4.0.4 ICS OS.

Overall:
I'm very happy with my purchase.
